Master of Arts in Journalism & Mass Communication
MA Journalism & Mass Communication gives training to the students in both technical skills and critical analysis of the spectrum of media. It is a postgraduate course of 2 years duration. The course includes the study of mass media such as newspapers, magazines, cinema films, radio, television etc in order to convey information to the audience.
Industry Scenario
- India has about 100,000 registered publications, 1000 television channels, a few hundred FM radio stations and about 500 million internet users – and the figure is growing. According to an industry report ( E&Y 2019), the growth rate of the media and entertainment industry has been 13.4 % over 2017 figures, and the overall industry size has reached INR 1.67 trillion (US$ 23.9 billion). The projection of growth for the overall industry size in 2021 is expected to reach INR 2.35 trillion (US$ 33.6 billion) rupees.
